Leather Care

Keep your leather shoes, boots, and loafers in pristine condition with these steps.

5 min read

Step 1: Clean

Remove laces and use a soft brush to clear surface dirt and dust before applying anything else. For scuffs or stains, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild saddle soap, then let the shoe air dry away from direct heat.

Step 2: Condition

Apply a leather conditioner every 4-6 weeks to replace natural oils lost over time. This step is crucial to prevent the leather from drying out, stiffening, and cracking.

Step 3: Polish

Use a horsehair brush or soft cloth to apply wax or cream polish in small circular motions. Buff with a clean cloth for a high-shine finish.

Step 4: Maintain shape

Insert cedar shoe trees immediately after wearing. They absorb moisture and keep the leather taut, preventing permanent creases from setting in.
